1st Entrepreneurship Conference LCL 2012

Held in National Library Auditorium Islamabad, this year conference was the 1st Annual Entrepreneurship Conference and 267 people attended from 39 organizations, took part. Of these participants 213 came from industry and academia to share their experiences of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education. Focusing on Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index (GEDI), LCL 2012 explored creative ways in which entrepreneurship can support development and help Pakistan to come up from 86th position reported in GEDI 2012.

In LCL 2012, Youth urged to become job givers instead of job seekers.

LCL 2012 was opened by the Honorable Dr. Mudassar Israr, the Chairman of Pakistan Council for Science and Technology. Speaking before the Chairman of PCST, Mr. Mobashar Sadik used the occasion to present The Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index GEDI 2012 Report. The Report, which examines how Nations are using new techniques to enhance entrepreneurship and development. The mission of the Global Entrepreneurship and Development Index GEDI) is to provide a detailed look into the entrepreneurial character of nations and tell us how much entrepreneurship the world has.

Dr. Nadeem ul Haque explained that fear of failure can be an entrepreneur’s worst enemy. But fear of failure shouldn’t be what holds an entrepreneur back from achieving business success, and sometimes some failures are even an indication of healthy entrepreneurial activity. The context in which the entrepreneur operates is also very important. Entrepreneurship reflects complex interactions between the individual and the situation, which has to be dynamic because business situations are always changing.
