On Saturday , 15th of November 2014, Jinnah Convention Center Islamabad witnessed history in the making. It was the 3rd annual entrepreneurship conference, “LCL: Learn. Create. Lead 2014” organized by Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI). 1600+ participants became part, of what has been declared as the largest gathering of entrepreneurs, national leaders and academia in Pakistan.
He enlightened the audience with his views on entrepreneurship and the idea of a successful business. “Think big, start small”.
This year, EDI was supported by Discretelogix. The platinum sponsors of the event were Higher Education Commission, FAST National University, Roots School System, Warid Telecom, Coca Cola, Toyota Indus Motors and Waste Busters. The media partners were Express, FM 91 and Startup Magazine. The academic partner was City University Peshawar. Other associated sponsors and supporting partners for this year’s conference included Kaymu.pk and AlooClan.
The format of the conference involved a mixture of keynote addresses, open forum speeches, panel discussions, startup exhibition and exclusive mentorship & networking sessions with over 100+ successful entrepreneurs from across the nation.
Mukhtar Ahmad , Chairman HEC inaugurated the conference and shared ideas on how innovation and creativity is the only way forward for a country. Talking on the policies of government, he said that university students must be given exposure to practically experience the marketing and commercialization. Audience were engaged in mentor sessions where their business ideas were discussed by different keynote speakers. The founder of SOL , Kamran Rizvi gave his ideas on rethinking the concept of business and how to take a step forward towards success. “All us dream, but a few think on implementing those dreams”, he added.
Many important personalities shared their views on business and innovation throughout the day including Shenaz Kapadi CEO (ECI), Salman Danish and Tahir Masood head Microsoft Innovation Center.
